GNC was founded in 1935, when David Shakarian dared to think differently and follow his dream of opening a small health food store called Lackzoom in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Just like you, he never stopped striving to achieve his goal, and soon, an empire was born from that small store. In the decades following the opening of his first store, Mr. Shakarian worked tirelessly to meet the demands of his customers by selling healthy foods like honey and wholegrain foods.
